post-production materials for use of reference, an inactive job file. The term is popular in the newspaper business to describe the file that holds past issues flats. The term has also been used by illustrators, comic book artist, designers and teachers.

Instructions

Collect 20 samples of graphic design and bring them in to class.

Bring in only one of each - for example, don't bring in 20 of the same business card design. Don't bring anything in that you need returned to you. The whole class will end up sharing these.

Here are some ideas of stuff to bring:

• business card
• flyer
• catalog
• brochure
• print ad
• advertising postcard
• greeting card
• business form
• magazine

These can be easily obtained at stores. I found a ton of stuff during two hours at Arden Fair Mall. Don't be afraid to tell people you're a graphic design student and you're looking for brochures or business cards for a class.
